Sharp 'n Stabby by isolatedreality Sharp 'n Stabby by isolatedreality
The 3 bearded axes have 5160 tool steel tip with wrought iron bodies. Used wagon wheel material for the wrought. Forge welded and done in the most traditional manner that I can do.

The war hammers are made form ball peen hammers.

All heat treated so they are "tough"

The top #1, #3 and the larger war hammer (#4 from the top) are still available. #3 has a slightly different handle now as well.

What type of wood did you use on the handles, and what finish did you use?

The sharp n stabby pics those handles are normal ones at the store. I strip the shiny finish off and then burn it with a torch. Its a pretty fast process and to keep them as affordable as I can its really my only resource. Unless I find someone who can make handles for real cheap. The war hammer is the same thing but I got some brass furniture tacks and placed them up the handle.

[link] This one has a curly maple handle that I ordered. I stained it and sealed it. This wood has a tendency to crack so I have a 3/8" round bar running through it to help reduce flex. Last I heard it is doing well and its been a year.

Thanks for the fave! :)
